My LIFE SAVER

I am so grateful for my son(12yrs old). He literally saved my life on July 23, 2012.

I had no idea what was going on with me. It was a regular Monday morning, so, I thought.  I tried to stand up to  prepare myself for work, but that day I felt a little dizzy. I thought, maybe I needed something to eat. i continued to try to get up, but my legs felt like noodles. I couldn't stand!  I flung myself out of my bed and tried to get closer to my son's room.  I remember trying to crawl, but i couldn't. I remember flinging myself and rolling to get closer to him. I yelled out to him, while I was still flinging myself on the floor, so much so  just before I flunged myself down the stairs my son came and asked me if I was OK. I think, I said "yes".My son kept saying "Mom, you don't look right." and "Mom, you don't sound right either.  I remember thinking, "I fell down the freaking steps how does one should look". I remember telling him I was OK. But then he asked me to say "buttercup" like 5 times. He said, I couldn't do it and that, "I didn't sound right".  He said, he was going to call 911. I told him "no!" I remember him putting the phone to my ear and my mother was on the line asking me what was going on because my son called her and said, "my mom, doesn't look or sound right and she won't let me call 911" my mom asked me to say a word and I guess I couldn't and the next thing I know the paramedics was at my door and I was in the hospital.  I didn't get out of the hospital until Aug. 28th.  So, for those who wondered that's where I've been.  I've been at my parent's house since then recovering and going to out patient therapy. That's the short story.

Take Care of yourself. Eat healthy and believe me STRESS kills!

The Forgotten Password

After fixing my son's computer about a month ago, a problem Best Buy created (due to warranty having expired, they wanted to charge $150 to fix it...NOT!), I finally allotted some more time to add his computer to our wireless network.  We discussed the ground rules, regarding the use of the computer and the internet.  Straight! Straight!.
I guess, everything wasn't "Straight!"  He decided, he would setup a Windows password.  Why? Is the question you might ask.  My question exactly.  His response, "so you couldn't logon to my computer".  Whoa! (ain't that something...he's usually not selfish).  I was totally in shock appalled that my son, would lock me out from accessing "his" laptop. He was nine at the time when he did this (he recently had a bday).

I hadn't totally finished "setting" up his computer, but he was so excited to use his computer so,I let him.  I hadn't applied the parental controls and all that good stuff (admin rights, guest access etc.).  My mother has always said, "you show him too much about those computers."  Maybe she's right!

Well, the jokes on him (me too, I guess) because he forgot the password.  I had him sit and try any and every password he could think of, but to no avail.  I had no intentions of trying to 'hack' my sons computer, besides Vista is tricky.  I've only allowed him on "MY" laptop a few times.  As a lesson had to be taught.  Also, because I did not want to spend another weekend fooling with his laptop, especially when out of selfishness the laptop is on lockdown.

This week, I decided, I would try cracking the code, to no avail.  I came across some software that had rave reviews and gave it a try.  I was getting excited as it was working (you know like in the movies...computer going through files like lightening...waiting for blinking red letter exposing the forgotten password), but ah, Vista wasn't having it.  No screaming accolades from me.  I tried some other things...nada.  I had come to grips that I would have to spend another daggone weekend fooling with his computer and reinstalling Vista on his laptop; until my last search revealed this site.  All I can say is THANK YOU!!! to the creator of the software.

My son doesn't know that his laptop is fixed and I'm not telling...for a little while longer.  Let the lesson simmer in just a bit more.

White House Easter Egg Roll Tickets

This is the first time that I've been excited to participate in the White House Easter Egg Roll event. When I told my son that I was going to try to get some tickets for the event, he showed no excitement whatsoever. He said, "I want to go to the White House, but not for an Easter Egg Roll!". I told him in order for me to go I had to bring a kid, so if I get tickets he would be going.

Well, all that(convo) was for nothing because I didn't get any tickets. I was disappointed, but I'm not enrage as others. I mean have you read some of the post regarding the distribution of the tickets. It's crazy! Yeah, I understand people have been glued to their computers attempting to get tickets and came out empty handed as myself. It just ain't that serious to me though. I had co-workers logging on attempting to get in so I could get tickets, but to no avail. No tantrums here. Some folks wrote that they would have preferred to camp out for the tickets as they had done previously. Hmmm...not I! I've never camped out for some tickets to anything and definitely wasn't going to start now. Especially, when I read a lady traveled from PA...camped out and as she was getting closer to the distribution box office they announced all tickets had been distributed. Now that is someone who should have had a tantrum or been enraged. Besides, it rained all day yesterday...Moi definitely would not have been camped out in the rain for tickets (this is not a life or death matter people)

I was happy to hear that they were distributing the tickets online. I hope they do the same next year and thereafter as well. The problem that occurred with the online system was the amount of people, which I guess the WH Easter Egg Roll committee under estimated and the system crashed! A lesson learned and I'm sure they will get it right next time.

Congratulations to those who did get through!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love The Ones You're With...

To my family and friends.

I hope you all are enjoying your day.  I am enjoying mine.  My parents gave me a card and money (that was nice).  My son brought(through his grandma) some flowers...Tulips and a card.  He loves giving me flowers and I love receiving them (he will make some woman happy when he comes of age).  I love Tulips.  I love flowers.  Most folks are surprise that I do not like chocolate.  In the past, I would receive a box of chocolates and I would just accept it with a smile.  Later, I would give it to my grandmother who loved chocolate.

Last year this time, I wrote a post informing everyone that I didn't have a "valentine" and hopefully next year I would.  Well, that was not exactly true, my son is my Valentine and will always be.  I still do not have a significant other and I'm fine with that.  I decided in December that in the new year I would be open to dating again.  I've met people, but no one I'm interested in getting to know better.  So, again we shall see ...

What did your Valentine give or do for you?

My Super Hero

The Christmas brunch was nice. The kids enjoyed getting their faces painted. I am fascinated by this art and how quickly it is done.

I'm Appreciated!!!

My little man put a smile on my face. He went to Hershey Park with the camp this past Tuesday. Now, normally I wouldn't allow him to go that far without me or a family member, but I couldn't go and neither could a family member. He really wanted to go and Hershey Park was on our list of things to do this summer. I looked at it as one thing down and so many to go. After I talked to the director of the summer camp, I felt better about letting him go. They left at 7am and returned at 7pm. He had a ball!

He told me about his trip and said, "Mommy, I got you something", then pulled out a red (his favorite color) Twizzler stuffed bear. He said, he got the "Twizzler" bear because he knows I don't like chocolate...LOL! I thanked him and told him he didn't have to get me anything and he said, " I wanted to because you do so much for me and for letting me go on the trip." Okay, he had me right there, but he preceded to say, "I wanted some candy, but I didn't have enough to get the bear and candy, so I put the candy back and got you the bear."
Awe...I must be doing something right.

I am appreciated!

The Birthday Celebration

Little people make me smile...

from the looks of the pictures and all the smiles I saw he/they had a good time. My son said, he had a nice bday, but that it went so fast.

These are pictures of my son and his two best friends.

Here are some more pictures of the day...

These kids were serious about their game. They were talkin' trash..."Look at that STRIKKKE!", "Let me pick up my spare" OMG, they were too funny.

This looks like a STRIKE to me!

Happy Birthday to my lil man!

She was just waiting her turn

Okay...Blogger is driving me crazy in posting these pictures.
I will edit the layout later.

Until next time...See Ya!
